However, it’s important to note a potential concern with the headlight placement. The front headlight is positioned at the front fender, and during suspension compression, the light may experience bouncing, leading to occasional fluctuations in its direction. Despite this minor concern, the Vsett 10+ provides sufficient brightness for night time riding, ensuring you have clear visibility on your journeys.
RIDE QUALITY
Tires
The VSETT 10+ comes equipped with 10×3 inch pneumatic tires. These are a good all-around option, offering a decent balance between comfort, grip, and performance. They’re not the knobbiest tires out there, so they might not be ideal for hardcore off-roading, but they handle well on paved surfaces and even light gravel paths. The deep tread pattern further contributes to the tires exceptional performance, providing ample grip on both dry and wet surfaces.
Pneumatic tires excel in delivering a smooth and comfortable ride by effectively cushioning bumps and vibrations. Their superiority over solid tires is evident not only in their enhanced grip, which is twice that of solids, but also in their extended lifespan, doubling the longevity of their solid counterparts.
Suspension
The suspension configuration on this particular setup stands out as one of the finest in its class. Boasting a front spring suspension paired with a rear hydraulic system, it delivers an impressive performance across various terrains.
From my perspective, the suspension might lean towards the softer side, as it appears to navigate uneven terrains with a certain bounce rather than absorbing the harsh impacts with a more rigid stance. This characteristic, while subjective, could be advantageous for those seeking a smoother ride over variety of surfaces. Overall it’s a delicate balance between responsiveness and comfort.
BUILD QUALITY
Folding & Portability
The VSETT 10+ has a secure triple locking mechanism, so there is no wobble. For comparison, the unfolded size of the VSETT 10+ is 51 x 25 x 53 inches. So, when folded, it is about 40% shorter, 60% narrower and 60% shorter.
To fold, the stem simply folds down over the deck with a quick-release lever, and there’s a secondary latch to keep it folded in place. The handlebars also fold down, which helps to make the scooter even more compact.
Weight & Load
Carrying the VSETT 10+ is a bit of a workout – at 66 lbs, it’s not exactly featherlight. If you’re thinking of lugging it around for miles, you might want to think twice. But hey, if it’s just a short hop from your car to your apartment, it’s manageable.
Now, when it comes to handling weight, the VSETT 10+ is no lightweight champion, but it’s not a slouch either. It can handle up to 285 pounds without breaking a sweat and that’s a decent load capacity, no doubt. However, when you put it side by side with similar scooters like the Wolf King GT, it’s like comparing a sedan to an SUV. The Wolf King GT throws down a heavyweight challenge with its load capacity that puts the VSETT 10+ in the shade. It’s a different league altogether.
PERFORMANCE & SAFETY
Top Speed
The VSETT 10+ boasts a hair-raising top speed of 50 mph. This puts it in the upper echelon of electric scooters, leaving most of its rivals in the dust. The maximum speed can only be attained for 2-minutes and by enabling Sport mode. After that, there is a 10-minute wait before you can enable sport mode again. The purpose of this is to ensure the durability of the motors, controller, and battery.
In my own hands-on testing, I clocked the VSETT 10+ at a blazing 46 mph on sport mode. Now, that might be a hair shy of the claimed top speed, but let me tell you – the thrill is real. The scooter maintains exceptional stability even when pushing the limits, giving you the confidence to embrace the thrill of speed.
Acceleration
The Vsett 10+ is a beast of a scooter when it comes to acceleration. Equipped with two powerful 1400W motors this beast can propel you from 0-30 mph in just a few seconds. It is definitely one of the fastest scooters we’ve reviewed, and it’s even faster than the Dualtron Thunder.
Its raw power can be a double-edged sword. If you’re not used to its punchy acceleration, it can be easy to jerk the throttle and end up feeling like you’re riding a bucking bronco. It takes some practice to master the throttle control and achieve smooth acceleration.
Range
On a single charge, it gives an impressive range of up to 56 miles. However, my testing achieved a notable 45-47 miles. This is still a very impressive range, and it makes the Mantis King GT one of the longest-range electric scooters on the market.
The impressive range of King GT is attributed to its substantial 60V 24Ah Samsung battery. Not only does this battery provide ample power, but it’s also exceptionally durable, capable of enduring up to 1000 charge cycles, ensuring a long-lasting and reliable performance.
Hill Climbing
Fitted with two powerful 1100W motors that generate 4000W, it can easily propel the scooter up steep hills. During our hill climbing test, the Mantis GT impressively tackled a 30-degree incline, maintaining a speed of 20 mph.
Its high torque rating and dual 30A sine wave controller ensures that it can maintain speed and performance even on challenging inclines. This makes it a reliable choice for riders who frequently encounter hilly terrain during their journeys.
Braking
Comes with dual Zoom hydraulic eABS and with 140mm rotors, which are considered to be among the best brakes available for electric scooters. They are known for being very responsive and powerful, and they have been tested to provide a stopping distance of just 2 meters (6.5 feet) from 15 mph.
Having experienced various electric scooters, I can confidently say that the brakes on the Mantis King GT are unparalleled. They offer a remarkably smooth and easily controlled braking experience, capable of bringing the scooter to a stop with precision and swiftness.
Charge Time
Charging takes time around 6-7 hours if you’re using both chargers that came in the box. You can always use fast chargers that will reduce the time to half.
Waterproof Rating
Rated as IPX5 water resistance, it can for sure handle light rains and water splashes. It offers protection against water spray from all directions at a nozzle pressure of 12.5 psi for a minimum duration of 3 minutes.
WARRANTY
The VSETT 10+ comes with a 1-year warranty for the motor and battery, and a 24-month warranty for the controller, throttle and frame. Other components such as brake pad, kickstand and fenders are covered for 1 month. Warranty claims made within 30 business days of delivery will be eligible for free replacement parts.
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, but does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, misuse, or accidents.
To file a warranty claim, you must contact Rev Rides. They will provide you with instructions on how to return the scooter for repair or replacement.
It is important to note that the warranty is only valid for scooters that are purchased from authorized retailers. If you purchase a VSETT 10+ from a third-party seller, the warranty may not be valid.
